Mother Tongues is a solo project from drummer Dennis Cassidy, using samples sourced exclusively from Irish records collected through years of digging in record stores, charity shops and flea markets the length and breadth of the country. Started as a creative outlet to move away from the comfort of the kit, it has blossomed into a personal journey to showcase the more weird and wonderful side of Irish music, history and culture committed to vinyl from the 50’s right through to today, combined with a deep affection for lo-fi hip-hop beats and lush electronica.
